Kucinich: Don’t Let Government Kill You

(Zero Hedge) Last Friday, US Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced HR 6357, a bill which aims to ‘prohibit the extrajudicial killing of United States citizens’ by the federal government. In other words, in the Land of the Free, they need to pass a  law to prevent the government from indiscriminately murdering its own citizens.

Drones and the Slaughter of Innocence

The CIA has killed more than 200 children in drone strikes outside of legitimate war zones since 2004, it is alleged. In Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia an estimated total of between 451 and 1,035 civilians were killed in at least 373 strikes according to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, the most accurate source of “kill statistics”.

Activists shut down Nuclear Facility

Fareed Zakaria: Never-ending War On Terror

Fareed Zakaria of CNN has an insightful take on the never-ending ‘war on terror.’

As he outlines, we have ramped up Homeland Security to 230 thousand employees engaged in a perpetual war against enemies known and unknown.  Approximately 30,000 people are assigned the task of monitoring our phone conversations and other communications.

Doesn’t sound like a Democracy that’s in very good shape to me…

‘Military-like response’ to Occupy

Oakland police used “an overwhelming military-type response” to disperse Occupy Oakland demonstrators and fired at a former Marine and Iraq war veteran who was critically injured in the clashes in October, according to a report issued on Monday.

The federal court monitor tracking reforms in the Oakland Police Department came one day before anti-Wall Street protesters plan nationwide rallies on May 1, with Occupy Oakland demonstrators vowing to take over San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
